About Melanie
Melanie began her career as an IT Specialist, working as a freelance consultant for over a decade before moving into property full time. She began building her buy-to-let portfolio in 2002 and has gone on to own and operate a successful, long-standing rental business. What began as a strategic investment choice evolved into a deep-rooted commitment — and a passion for reimagining spaces with purpose.
With a strong foundation in both business and property, Melanie brings a strategic, creative and hands-on approach to every FernscapeDevelopments project.

Property also runs deep in her family. Her father spent his entire career in the development and construction industry — rising from a carpenter to a Quantity Surveyor and eventually becoming the Managing Director of a prominent and successful Development and Construction company. Melanie’s firsthand experience of the construction process, having lived in two homes built by her father, as well as carrying out significant development on her own properties, all fuelled her enthusiasm for transforming spaces. This exposure has shaped her understanding of what it takes to bring a vision to life — from the first sketch to the final detail.
Now, through Fernscape Developments, Melanie leads a carefully selected team of professionals with the specialist knowledge and experience needed to unlock the full potential of every project. The company focuses on high-quality commercial conversions and repurposing, delivering developments that are not only commercially successful but also enduring in value and purpose.
